Seahawks Squelch Jets Offense in Shutout Win
|
Seong-hyeon Pak never let the Jets get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Seahawks to a 3-0 win. The winning pitcher was Pak, now 4-2. He tossed 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 3. Severiano Gramachoto closed the game out for Myrtle Beach, earning his 3rd save.
The Seahawks got a big at-bat from right fielder Felipe Soto. For the game, Soto went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Myrtle Beach a 2-0 lead.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Pak told the Myrtle Beach Herald.
Even with the win, the Seahawks have a dismal 16-31 record.
