Rainbow Mermaids Get Road Win, 7-4
|
Vancouver catcher Arlen Joysey had a good game, even if his team did not. The Grey Wolves dropped a 7-4 decision to Northern Virginia at Wolf Den in Vancouver. Joysey went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Iván García converted his 15th save in 20 tries. The Rainbow Mermaids improved to 52-54.
The result might have been different for Northern Virginia, had it not been for Ty Tomblin. The center fielder produced a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rainbow Mermaids ahead, 6-4. For the game, Tomblin had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Tomblin said.
