Expos Fall Short, 5-4, at Grand Forks
|
The Niagara Falls Expos got a sterling performance from pitcher Miguel Longoria, but the Caterpillars still prevailed, 5-4. Longoria was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 8 innings of 7-hit ball. Grand Forks reliever Mike Orrsborne was the winner. His record is now 3-1. Miguel Longoria took the loss. Wayne Quint earned the save for Grand Forks, his 5th of the year.
One of the key players for the Caterpillars was left fielder Goro Yokoyama, who drilled a run-scoring single in the bottom of the second inning. For the game, Yokoyama was 1-3.
"I was a little disappointed," said Niagara Falls manager Dave Ross. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
Grand Forks has a 5-game win streak, while Niagara Falls has lost 4 in a row.
