Mt. Vernon right-hander Jesús Franco made an effective start against the Myrtle Beach Seahawks at Ballpark of Mt. Vernon, leading his team to a 4-2 win. It was the 12th win in 19 games this year for the defending champion Bulls, who are picking up where they left off.

Franco scattered 5 hits over 8 innings for the Bulls. With the win, Franco moves to 2-2 on the year with 33 strikeouts.

"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Franco told the Mt. Vernon Today. "You win just by scoring more runs."
