Highlanders Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Rails
The Asheville Highlanders bested the Richland Rails, 9-4, at Asheville Park. Marcos Rico was named player of the game. He was 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Asheville reliever Eric Foster picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Jeffery Page was saddled with the loss. Asheville is now 42-60.

Dan Parkinson drew 1 walk in his only trip to the plate for Asheville. The speedster had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Jeffery Page. It was his 5th walk of the season.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Parkinson told the Asheville News.
