Loss Extends Phoenix Hotspur Losing Streak

The Durham Rapiers topped the Phoenix Hotspur Youth, 5-3, at Grenadiers Ballpark. Durham designated hitter Armando Chamú earned player of the game honors. He banged out 1 single and 2 doubles, while driving in 2 runs. Rusty Maxson, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 3 innings. Phoenix Hotspur, at 52-50, has lost 6 straight.
Chamú had a game-changing double in the top of the seventh. On a full count curveball from Masahiro Sakei, he banged a run-scoring double to right, giving the Rapiers a 3-2 lead. It was the 17th double of the year for Chamú.
