It was a good time at Loony Bin, where fans came to watch the Chesapeake Continentals and Minnesota Loons get after it.
Bennett Whitford helped his team muscle past the Chesapeake Continentals, 6-4. In the game, the Minnesota left fielder went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 times. Minnesota is now 58-43.
Dhyana Snigdha had a big 2-run single for the Loons in the bottom of the second inning. With Minnesota leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Francisco Torres and stroked the single to left. It was his 80th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Loons ahead, 4-0.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Minnesota manager Leo Sargent.
