Continentals Fall Short, 7-6, at Asheville
|
A 4-RBI performance from the 23-year old center fielder Harley Whitfield helped the Asheville Highlanders beat the Chesapeake Continentals, 7-6. Rex Hood picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-1. Jeff Enamorado was tagged with the loss. The 'W' lifts Asheville's record to 40-59.
José Segura helped out the Asheville cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the shortstop was 1 for 4 with a double.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Segura told the Asheville News.
