Late Rally by Continentals Secures Win
The Asheville Highlanders got a superb performance from pitcher Jim Eisenmenger, but the Chesapeake Continentals still won the game, 5-2. Eisenmenger was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 7 innings of shutout ball. The win was credited to Howard Vidaurri in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Bob Grzelak took the loss. Cedric Zuercher converted his 3rd save in 3 tries.

Otton Dis made it 3-2, Chesapeake, in the top of the ninth when he hit a sacrifice fly. It was a big at-bat in the Continentals win.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Dis told reporters after the game.

At 54-43, Chesapeake is in third place in the Premier AA.
