The Springfield Shooters defeated the Richland Rails, 3-1, in USPL Double A action at Springfield Stadium, with Springfield pitcher Otte Leuthold named player of the game. The save was credited to Dermot Eridge, his 20th. The Rails, now 36-57, have lost 6 in a row.
Pacu Martic drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Springfield. The 21-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Jeffery Page. It was his 5th RBI of the season.
