Bill Poole helped his team muscle past the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 6-5. In the game, the Phoenix Hotspur designated hitter went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Leon von Stroheim finished to wrap up his 18th save. The Youth now have a record of 50-41 with the win over Mercer Island.
The most important at-bat for Phoenix Hotspur came in the top of the ninth inning, when second baseman Bill Erickson stroked a full count fastball to right for a 2-run single, putting Phoenix Hotspur up, 6-5.
