Shooters Roll to 8-2 Win Over Rails

The Springfield Shooters beat the Richland Rails, 8-2, at Springfield Stadium. The win was largely due to the efforts of first baseman Pacu Martic, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Miguel Padilla picked up the save, his 1st. The Rails, at 36-55, have lost 4 in a row.
Sébastien Bernard's at-bat in the bottom of the second was significant for the Shooters. Coming to the plate with the bases loaded and Springfield leading 1-0, the center fielder reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run.
Martic called the win "a collective effort."
