Continentals Shut Out Rails
|
Chesapeake Continentals starter Jeff Enamorado turned in a top-notch performance against the Richland Rails at Rails Ballpark. The result was a win for the Continentals, 2-0. The winning pitcher was Enamorado, now 7-4. He tossed 5 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 2. Francisco Torres earned the save, his 25th.
Tied up with the Rails in the top of the fourth inning, the Continentals got a boost from designated hitter Seth Rollins. With a runner on 1st, Rollins saw a 0-1 fastball from Noah Beck and hit a 2-run home run to break the stalemate and put Chesapeake on top, 2-0.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Chesapeake manager Nacho Rivero said.
Chesapeake has a 4-game win streak, while Richland has lost 3 in a row.
