Loons Knock Off Screaming Eagles, 4-1

The Minnesota Loons beat the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 4-1, at Loony Bin. The win was largely due to the efforts of shortstop Dhyana Snigdha, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. Sjoerd Reynoud got credit for the win, improving to 7-2. He allowed 1 run on 6 hits in 6.1 innings. Minnesota, at 45-35, occupies second place in the Premier AA.
With a runner on 3rd and one out in the bottom of the sixth inning, center fielder Cody Jaeckel delivered big for the Loons. Minnesota was leading 2-1 when he belted a 2-run home run.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Minnesota skipper Leo Sargent.
