Fur Traders Lose Again, 4-2, to Screaming Eagles
|
Tacoma got a terrific game from catcher Stan Wheeler. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Mercer Island, 4-2. Wheeler was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 2-4 with a home run. José Sauls, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save. The Fur Traders, at 30-47, have lost 9 in a row.
Theo Fightmaster's at-bat in the bottom of the sixth was significant for the Screaming Eagles. Coming to the plate with a runner on 2nd and Mercer Island leading 3-2, the first baseman hit a run-scoring double.
"It was a good effort all around," said Fightmaster.
