Piranhas Get Close Win Over Hotspur
|
Panama City Piranhas starter Mimosa Joseph pitched a strong game against the Phoenix Hotspur at Chase Field, leading the Piranhas to a 4-1 win. Panama City reliever Mark Valle picked up the win to move to 6-4. Wes Hamm suffered the loss. Folkert van Huizen was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 18 of 20 save opportunities.
Raúl Ortíz made it 2-1 in favor of Panama City when he delivered a run-scoring single. It came with two out in the top of the eighth. The Piranhas went on to win.
"We had a good game plan," Joseph said, "and we were able to execute it."
Panama City is now 48-51.
