Rails Stymie Mercer Island, Take 4-1 Win
|
Mercer Island got a terrific performance from designated hitter Vincente Flores, but it wasn't enough to beat the Richland Rails. Richland won the Rails Ballpark contest, 4-1. Flores was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a double. Carlton Roberts was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save. Richland, at 29-45, sits in 9th place in the Premier AA.
Juan Rosado, who is tied for 7th in the PAA in stolen bases with 15, helped out the Richland cause in the bottom of the first inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the left fielder was 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Rosado told the Richland Times.
