Eclipse Squelch Rails Offense in Shutout Win
|
It was a fun time at Old-Timers Park, where the Richland Rails and Northville Eclipse tangled.
The Northville Eclipse topped the Richland Rails by the score of 3-0, with the largest share of the credit going to third baseman Octávio Ontiveros. Ontiveros went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Eclipse. Xavier Padilla picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 6-1. Raúl Sánchez was tagged with the loss. Vaugh Chesser notched his 16th save in 19 chances.
The Eclipse picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.
Ontiveros called the triumph "a good team win."
Northville is now riding a 4-game win streak.
