Shooters Win Again, Extend Streak to 8
|
The Springfield Shooters knocked off the Phoenix Hotspur Youth, 7-1, at Grenadiers Ballpark. Sébastien Bernard, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Springfield won. The right fielder went 3 for 5 with 3 singles. He drove in 4 runs. The losing skid has reached 6 games for Phoenix Hotspur.
Early in the game, Bernard had a 2-run single for Springfield. It was his 32nd hit of the season and put the Shooters on top, 3-1.
"We're playing like gangbusters right now," said Bernard.
