Funkhouser Delivers Walk-Off Win for Rails
Fans who came to Rails Ballpark watched the Richland Rails and the Phoenix Hotspur Youth fight to the finish.

The Richland Rails wiggled past the Phoenix Hotspur Youth, 4-3, at Rails Ballpark. Richland pitcher Ron Armstrong earned player of the game honors. Richland reliever Ron Armstrong was credited with the win, to go to 1-3. Cameron Roberts took the loss for Phoenix Hotspur.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 13th inning, when Richland left fielder Wilford Funkhouser, facing Cameron Roberts, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Rails the 4-3 win.

"I know we have our doubters," said Phoenix Hotspur manager Junior Benítez. "But I still have high hopes for this team."

Richland is now 25-40.
