Late Rally by Shooters Secures Win
|
The Springfield Shooters trumped the Minnesota Loons, 4-2, at Springfield Stadium. Springfield third baseman Miguel Elías was named player of the game for his performance. He was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Dermot Eridge closed the game out for Springfield, earning his 12th save. The winning streak has now reached 5 games for the Shooters.
Elías had a game-changing double in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-0 cutter from Raymond Beauregard, he banged a 2-run double to left, giving the Shooters a 4-2 lead. It was the 9th double of the year for Elías.
"I try to not think too much," said Elías.
