Rapiers Get Past Northville for 1-0 Win
|
The Durham Rapiers got a stellar performance from pitcher Archibald Bridgestone, who handcuffed the Northville offense en route to a 1-0 win at Rapiers Ballpark. Durham reliever Mark Sinclair picked up the win, upping his record to 5-2. Ricardo Ramírez was saddled with the loss. The Rapiers raised their record to 26-31.
The Rapiers got a big at-bat from right fielder Alberto Garza. For the game, Garza was 2-4 with 2 singles. In the bottom of the eighth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 68th hit of the season gave Durham a 1-0 lead.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Northville manager Juan Padilla said following the tough loss.
