Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Brian Moring, the Chesapeake Continentals defeated the Minnesota Loons, 10-3. Moring went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Continentals. Kyung-nam Kim got the win, improving to 3-0. He held the Loons to 2 earned runs on 5 hits over 7.2 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Chesapeake now has a 3-game win streak.
Chesapeake left fielder Peer van Lochem helped the Continentals go up, 3-2, in the top of the fifth inning. With the game tied, van Lochem hit a run-scoring single off Minnesota pitcher Sjoerd Reynoud.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Moring.
