Asheville rode a decent outing from starter Mariano Núñez to victory over the Tacoma Fur Traders at Ballpark of Tacoma. The final score was 5-2. Núñez, now 1-0, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 2 earned runs. Bob Grzelak earned the save, his 4th, for the Highlanders.
Landon Harryman, who was drafted in the three round of the 2029 draft, aided the Asheville cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth. For the game, the center fielder was 1 for 4.
"We take it day by day here," said Harryman, "and today was a good one for us."
The Highlanders now have a record of 22-32 with the win over Tacoma.
