Calixto slugs 2 home runs as Highlanders Squeeze Past Springfield
A 3-RBI performance from first baseman Félix Calixto, who is tied for 10th in the PAA with a .311 batting average, led the Asheville Highlanders to a 4-3 win over the Springfield Shooters. Asheville reliever Howard Jamerson got the win, raising his record to 2-5. Tod Whipple was tagged with the loss. Asheville, at 19-31, occupies last place in the Premier AA.

Calixto had a key at-bat for Asheville early in the game. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a run-scoring single. It was his 51st hit of the season and gave Asheville an early 1-0 lead.

"I really like what we did out there today," Calixto said after the game.
