Continentals Win at Richland, 3-2
|
The Chesapeake Continentals did just enough to secure a 3-2 victory over the Richland Rails at Rails Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Iwane Chihara, who captured player of the game honors. Chihara got the win, improving to 2-4. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. Chihara allowed 2 earned runs. The Continentals raised their record to 25-22.
Arturo Scantlebury, who is tied for 9th in the PAA in hits with 49, aided the Chesapeake cause with a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth. For the game, the first baseman went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Winning is contagious," said Chihara. "We're looking forward to the next game."
