Victory Pushes Eclipse Record to 26-20
|
Northville and Asheville duked it out at Asheville Park and the Eclipse came out victorious.
The exploits of second baseman Lonnie Murray, who is tied for 9th in the PAA in home runs with 6, helped the Northville Eclipse defeat the Asheville Highlanders, 5-2. Murray went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Vaugh Chesser earned the save for Northville, his 10th of the year.
Octávio Ontiveros, who is tied for 10th in the PAA in stolen bases with 9, aided the Northville cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the sixth. For the game, the third baseman went 1 for 3 with 2 walks.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Ontiveros told the Northville Daily.
Northville is now 26-20.
