Late Rally by Rapiers Secures Win
The Asheville Highlanders got a superb performance from pitcher Claudio Salazar. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Durham. The Rapiers won the game, 3-1. In spite of the loss, Salazar was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball. Stu Noble earned the save for Durham, his 2nd of the year. Durham, at 20-24, sits in 7th place in the Premier AA.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and two out in the top of the seventh inning. That's when right fielder Alberto Garza, who is tied for 4th in the PAA in doubles with 11, drew a walk. The Rapiers went on to win.

"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Rapiers manager Brody Roberts, "I like our chances."
