Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Screaming Eagles
|
The Minnesota Loons got a superb performance from second baseman Rubén Medina. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Mercer Island. The Screaming Eagles won the game, 4-3. In spite of the loss, Medina was named the player of the game. He was 4-4 with 4 singles. Mercer Island reliever Esteban Miroz picked up the win to move to 2-2. Jeff Territt suffered the loss. Mercer Island has now won 6 games in a row.
The Screaming Eagles were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when first baseman Ray Davis turned a 1-2 fastball from Jeff Territt into a 2-run home run. The walk-off home run sent a roar through the crowd and gave Mercer Island a thrilling 4-3 win.
"I like the roll we're on right now," said Davis after the game.
