The Northville Eclipse topped the Richland Rails, 4-2, in USPL Double A action at Old-Timers Park. The player of the game was Northville pitcher and Mérida, Venezuela native Xavier Padilla. Northville reliever Francisco Medrano was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Raúl Sánchez took the loss for Richland. The save went to Vaugh Chesser, his 9th this season.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and two out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when right fielder Adrian McCoy, who leads the PAA in home runs with 12, reached on an error by the 1B. The Eclipse went on to win.
McCoy told a Northville Daily reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
Northville currently is in second place in the Premier AA at 24-18.
