Fur Traders Solve Highlanders, 5-3
|
The Asheville Highlanders got a superb performance from second baseman Ed Lastinger, but the Tacoma Fur Traders still won the game, 5-3. Lastinger was named the player of the game despite the loss. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Pedro Pérez closed the game out for Tacoma, earning his 1st save. Tacoma, at 21-15, sits in second place in the Premier AA.
Jonathan Barnett, who is tied for 3rd in the PAA in runs scored with 24, aided the Tacoma cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the third. For the game, the first baseman was 1 for 3 with a double.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Barnett told the Tacoma Gazette.
