Victory Pushes Shooters Record to 16-15
|
The Springfield Shooters picked up a win at Springfield Stadium, knocking off the Phoenix Hotspur Youth, 4-1. Starting pitcher Andrew Jamison, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Jamison went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 1. His record improves to 1-1. Springfield is now 16-15, Phoenix Hotspur 16-15.
Springfield grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and a runner on 2nd, Roberto Alonzo delivered a run-scoring double, to make it 2-1 in favor of the Shooters.
"We did a lot of things right," said Jamison.
