Continentals Turn Back Asheville, 4-3
|
Fans who came to Asheville Park watched the Chesapeake Continentals and the Asheville Highlanders fight to the finish.
The Chesapeake Continentals eked out a 4-3 win versus the Asheville Highlanders at Asheville Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Jeff Enamorado, who captured player of the game honors. Enamorado, the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 1 walk.
The game hit a turning point in the top of the fourth inning, when the Continentals were trailing 1-0. Otton Dis delivered a two-out 2-run single for Chesapeake, catapulting his team into the lead.
"I really like what we did out there today," Enamorado said after the game.
Chesapeake occupies 7th place in the Premier AA at 14-16.
