Fur Traders Come Up Short at Mercer Island
|
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles scored a 2-1 win versus the Tacoma Fur Traders at Mercer Island Grounds. Mercer Island pitcher Satoshi Ono nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Getting the save was Gob Bluth, his 4th. The Screaming Eagles now have a mark of 16-10.
Mercer Island took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and a runner on 2nd, Ray Davis stroked a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Screaming Eagles.
"Runs were at a premium," said Mercer Island manager James Wheeler.
