D.C. and Northern Virginia duked it out at Atlantica and the Divided came out victorious.
The D.C. Divided overcame a good performance by Northern Virginia catcher Galtero Suárez to knock off Northern Virginia, 8-6, at Atlantica. Suárez went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Roberto Silva was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 6 of 6 save opportunities.
Julián Salcido put D.C. in front, 7-0, when he took Ramón Molina downtown. His 2-run home run came with one out in the top of the fourth. It was his 13th home run of the season.
"We'll savor this win," Salcido told the D.C. Citizen, "then get ready for the next game."
D.C. is now 38-56.
