Lee Charles helped his team muscle past the Asheville Highlanders, 12-2. In the game, the Springfield designated hitter slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4. Otte Leuthold was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. Springfield, at 11-11, sits in 4th place in the Premier AA.

Charles had a key at-bat for Springfield early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and gave Springfield an early 2-0 lead.
