Dominant Performance by Bough in Durham Win
|
The Durham Rapiers got a strong performance from pitcher Johnnie Bough, who stymied the Asheville offense en route to a 4-0 win at Rapiers Ballpark. The win boosts the Rapiers to 8-13. The loss puts the Highlanders at 10-11.
Bough was in the zone all game. He frustrated Asheville hitters while giving the Rapiers 8.1 innings of quality work. Bough threw 123 pitches, allowing 1 hit and getting 7 punchouts.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Bough told reporters after the game.
