Late Rally by Continentals Secures Win
The Northville Eclipse got a sterling performance from pitcher Freddie Mayes, but the Continentals still prevailed, 3-2. Mayes was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 5 innings of shutout ball. Juan Valdéz, credited with the win, is now 1-1. He allowed no runs on 4 hits in 4 innings. The win puts the Continentals at 10-11, while the Eclipse drop to 12-9.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Chesapeake trailing 2-1, Obi Jones hit a changeup from Vaugh Chesser to left for a 2-run double. Just like that, the Continentals had a walk-off win.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Northville manager Juan Padilla said following the tough loss.
