Tight Tilt Goes to Continentals, 3-2

The Chesapeake Continentals got a good effort from starter Andrew Prieto in defeating the Phoenix Hotspur Youth at Grenadiers Ballpark. The final score was 3-2. In 6.1 innings, Prieto surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Francisco Torres earned the save, his 3rd.
In the top of the 6th, catcher Brian Moring gave Chesapeake the lead when he hit a 3-run home run. The Continentals had been trailing 2-0, but the two-out home run off Phoenix Hotspur pitcher Ismael Lara changed that -- and Chesapeake went on to win.
"It was a solid team effort," said Prieto after the game.
Chesapeake has a record of 8-10.
