Killefer 4-5, Screaming Eagles Move to 11-7

A nice crowd turned out to see the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles and Asheville Highlanders clash at Asheville Park.
Mercer Island third baseman Wade Killefer was a significant contributor in his team's 9-3 triumph over the Asheville Highlanders. He was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for Mercer Island. Mercer Island, now 11-7, has played well in the early going.
Killefer came through with some timely hitting for Mercer Island. With the score 1-1 in the top of the second and two down, Killefer hit a 0-2 slider for a run-scoring single. His 23rd hit of the season made it 2-1, Mercer Island.
