Phoenix Hotspur starter José Santiago pitched effectively against the Asheville Highlanders at Asheville Park. The left-hander led his team to a 3-1 win. The winning pitcher was Santiago, now 2-0. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 3. Leon von Stroheim picked up the save for Phoenix Hotspur, his 2nd of the year.
