The Richland Rails got a strong performance from pitcher Claudio Palma, who stymied the Chesapeake offense en route to a 5-2 win at Chesapeake Grounds. Juan Rúbio closed the game out for Richland, earning his 1st save. The Rails, now 2-1, have been on a roll in the early going.

Alexandre Keeping, who is rated as the 50th best prospect by BNN, aided the Richland cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh. For the game, the designated hitter went 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
