Continentals Win Thriller, 5-4
The Richland Rails got a superb performance from pitcher Vicente Romero. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Chesapeake. The Continentals won the game, 5-4. In spite of the loss, Romero was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. With the win, Chesapeake goes to 1-1.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th inning, when Chesapeake designated hitter Ray Walker, facing Ron Armstrong, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Continentals the 5-4 win.

"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Walker said.
