|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Martín Martínez, the Bloomington Longnecks defeated the Milton Dogfish Head, 8-4. Martínez slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Longnecks. Nassim El-Badwi, who went 6.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with no runs on 5 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 10-3. Bloomington is now 60-42.
Martínez had a key at-bat for Bloomington early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and gave Bloomington an early 3-0 lead.
