With second baseman Chad Silander leading the charge, the Pawnee ParksNRec defeated the Salt Lake City Buzz, 4-3, at Whips Ballpark. Silander, who is tied for 10th in the PAAA with a .812 OPS, was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Pawnee has a 3-game win streak, while Salt Lake City has lost 3 in a row.
Silander had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-2 fastball from Shotaro Sugahara, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the ParksNRec a 4-3 lead. It was the 17th home run of the year for Silander.
"I like what I saw today," said Pawnee manager Rusty Bennett, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
