Tight Tilt Goes to Hotspur Reserves, 2-1
|
The Phoenix Hotspur Reserves defeated the Jersey City Tritons, 2-1, in USPL Triple A action at Jersey City Grounds, with Phoenix pitcher José Quiñones named player of the game. Quiñones got the win, improving to 6-3. He allowed 6 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. Quiñones allowed 1 earned run. Dennis Dunn, credited with the save, is now 6 for 10 in save opportunities.
Jason DeGeorge helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a run-scoring triple to give Phoenix a 1-0 lead.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said DeGeorge.
Phoenix occupies 9th place in the Premier AAA at 40-52.
