Longnecks Take Down Hotspur Reserves, 8-5
|
The Bloomington Longnecks topped the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves, 8-5, in USPL Triple A action at Thunderbirds Stadium. The player of the game was Bloomington pitcher and Santiago, Dominican Republic native Gabriel Valenzuela. The winning pitcher was Valenzuela, now 3-3. He tossed 5.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 4. After today's action, Bloomington sits at 47-32, while Phoenix falls to 36-43.
Ty Struck hit a 2-run triple off Raúl Gonzáles in the top of the second, which put the Longnecks in front, 2-0. Struck had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 4.
