Longnecks Win Again, Extend Streak to 6
|
The Bloomington Longnecks topped the Salt Lake City Buzz, 2-1, in USPL Triple A action at Spirits Stadium. The player of the game was Bloomington pitcher and Woodstock, Illinois native Keith Rojas. Rojas, the winner, moves to 5-6. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 3 walks. The Longnecks have now won 6 straight.
Shahid Afridi tagged a home run off Poto Scacceri in the top of the first. His 2-run blast put the Longnecks on top, 2-0. In all, Afridi had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
"We scored one run," said Salt Lake City manager Allen Bartlett. "You're not gonna get a lot of Ws scoring just one run."
