Win Streak Now at 6 for Evergreens

The Evergreens faced a stiff challenge from Brooklyn pitcher Addie Samson, but persevered to claim a win at Ebbetts Field. The final score was 5-1. Samson went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. George Eisenhauer earned the win for Portland. He lasted 6.1 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 5 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 2-0. Roberto Calderón got credit for the save for Portland. It was his 1st of the year.
Billy Dotson went 1-3 for Portland. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the top of the seventh. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Scott Mildren. It was his 10th RBI of the season.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Brooklyn manager Erock Genova.
Portland, at 7-2, has sizzled in the early going.
