Afridi Helps Longnecks Run Win Streak to 3
|
Shahid Afridi added some punch to the Bloomington offense, helping them outmuscle the Calgary Lynx, 10-7. In the game, Afridi, who is rated as the 50th best prospect by BNN, went 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times. Atila Freska was the winning pitcher. Over 5 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. Fernando Ramírez sewed up the save, his 6th.
The Longnecks got a big at-bat from center fielder Gabrio Campoverde. For the game, Campoverde went 1-5. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 41st hit of the season gave Bloomington a 5-3 lead.
